Locum Educational Psychologist
Location: Dorchester, Dorset (Onsite / Hybrid)
Rate per day: £500 - £600 per day OR £1,200 per assessment (2 days)
Working Arrangements: Flexible Contract Opportunity, Onsite assesments
We are currently seeking an experienced Locum Educational Psychologist to support Dorset's SEND Service.

About the Role
As a Locum Educational Psychologist, you will:
- Apply evidence-informed psychology to improve outcomes for children and young people aged 0-25 with SEND.
- Support Dorset Council in meeting its statutory responsibilities for vulnerable children and young people.
- Work in a strengths-based, person-centred way with children, young people, parents and carers.
- Collaborate with schools, educational settings and multi-agency professionals to promote effective practice and build capacity.
- Manage your own workload while maintaining high professional standards and evidence-based practice.
- Deliver high-quality statutory psychological advice as part of the Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment (EHCNA) process.
- Undertake assessments and produce clear, comprehensive psychological reports.
- Work closely with families, schools and partner agencies to understand needs and develop recommendations.
- Provide practical, child-centred and outcome-focused advice grounded in sound psychological principles.
- Contribute to positive outcomes for children and young people through collaborative working and professional expertise.
- UK-recognised postgraduate qualification in Educational Psychology.
- HCPC registration.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working within a Local Authority.
- Strong analytical, organisational and report-writing skills.
- Ability to complete at least one in-person assessment per month.
- Up-to-date DBS clearance and GDPR training.
- Right to work in the UK.
