We are currently recruiting for an experienced SEND Case Officer to join a busy SEND Team in West Berkshire.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled SEND professional to manage a caseload of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), ensuring statutory duties are met and children and young people receive the support they need to achieve positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and coordinate the Annual Review process for EHCPs in line with the Education Act 1996 and Children and Families Act 2014.
    • Ensure all reviews and associated processes are completed within statutory timescales.
    • Draft, amend and maintain high-quality EHCP documentation.
    • Liaise with schools, Educational Psychologists and other professionals to gather and review advice.
    • Support parents by providing guidance on SEND processes, legislation and available services.
    • Attend Annual Reviews where required.
    • Coordinate placements for pupils with EHCPs, including special schools, independent settings and further education colleges.
    • Prioritise and progress cases for children looked after by the Local Authority.
    • Prepare briefing notes, case summaries and recommendations for senior officers.
    • Maintain accurate records and ensure all information is handled confidentially.
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience working within SEND and EHCP services.
    • Strong understanding of SEND legislation and statutory processes.
    • Proven experience drafting and amending EHCPs to a high standard.
    • Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to manage a busy caseload independently and work to strict deadlines.
    • Strong partnership-working and stakeholder engagement skills.
    • Experience working collaboratively with families, schools and multi-agency professionals.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive team and make a real difference to the lives of children and young people with SEND while benefiting from a flexible hybrid working arrangement.
